Greetings from Georgia and welcome to the National Association for Court Management (NACM)! With approximately 1,700 members, NACM is the largest association of court management professionals in the world. Together we’ve worked diligently for more than thirty years to define the profession of court administration, and we’re happy to have you join us. As we enter the 2020-2021 year, we are facing never before seen challenges. We hear in the news that COVID-19 is a “novel” coronavirus. The dictionary tells us that novel simply means “new or unusual in an interesting way.” Throughout this pandemic, most courts have never fully shut down and have found ways to handle protective orders, bond hearings and other essential matters in unique and, dare I say, novel, ways. So, here is my challenge and vision for us at NACM and as court professionals. We too must be novel, or new or unusual in an interesting way. To accomplish this, NACM will find new or unusual ways to support you, our members. NACM exists to serve you! We will continue to push out educational content in whatever ways are necessary. We will be unveiling a new online repository of hundreds of conference videos, webinars and Court Manager articles available by topic. We will work with partners and state associations to share and collaborate. We will do this… and more… not because we have to but because that is what are… court professionals. Our success is your success. Be novel!
