December 2021
As 2021 comes to a close, we are not only faced with the ongoing COVID pandemic but devastating natural disasters as well. My thoughts and prayers go out to all those that were impacted by the recent outbreak of tornadoes. It is definitely a time of year to reflect on the treasures we have and to reach out and help others in need. As a court community, NACM members have always shown the desire and willingness to help others and I am proud to be part of that community. We as court managers continue to strive for ways to improve the judicial system to create access and fairness for all. In a time when public trust and confidence is a pressing issue, courts have embraced new and innovative ways to increase our perception as an advocate.
The theme for our 2022 conferences is a prime example. Our upcoming Mid-Year in Bellevue is “Resilience and Reinvention, Transforming the Future of Courts”. I hope you will be able to join us for this outstanding conference either in person or virtually. You will notice on the Agenda there are numerous sessions to inspire and motivate us to continue our great work. As always, in addition to the educational sessions, many networking opportunities are available to consult and gather information from your colleagues.
NACM is a successful association because of our various committees and the great volunteer work of our members on those. I encourage you to join a committee, become more involved and I guarantee you will be glad you did. The NACM Board is committed to moving with our Strategic Priorities. Let us never forget those that have made sacrifices along the way and use that to inspire us to make necessary changes. Let us continue the DEI movement and make this organization better for the next generation.
In closing, I hope you are doing well and hope you have some time during the Holidays to focus on your personal wellbeing. It is imperative that we take care of ourselves. Find a way that works for you as an individual, whether it be meditation, gathering with friends and family, or simply walking outside allowing the beauty of nature to inspire you. I am blessed to be part of this great community and I am honored you have trusted me to be your leader.
See you in 2022!
