The five trial court performance standards have provided a foundational measuring stick for court managers for the past five decades. Access and fairness are at the core of these measurements. When access and fairness are impinged upon, trust in the judicial system dissipates significantly. This webinar will examine how past landmark decisions from the United States Supreme Court have adversely affected segments of our communities. In particular, decisions based upon identification characteristics such as race, gender, sexual orientation, gender identification, disability, and socio-economic status among others have marginalized members of our communities to a point where more are likely to distrust rather than trust the courts will be accessible and fair.
