2019 Mid-Year Conference Core Session Accountability and Court Performance
04/08/2019President Will Simmons’ Message – January 2020
01/17/2020Greetings NACM!
I trust that you enjoyed the Annual Conference in Las Vegas and the excellent educational content prepared for your professional development. The theme: “Courts and Society: Creating Public Trust Through Engagement and Innovation” provided best practices to improve the public’s trust in courts. This is achieved through active engagement and innovation in the areas of access and fairness, community engagement, indigent legal representation, problem-solving courts, civil justice improvement initiatives, workforce development and technology to name a few. Thank you to the volunteer members of the Conference Development Committee and the Call for Proposals Subcommittee for their dedication and commitment selecting our presenters.
I encourage you to become engaged with NACM by joining a committee. Committee membership offers an insightful view into our organization. You can find those committees and their meeting dates on our website.
Finally, I want to thank each of you for entrusting me with the responsibility of being our organizations leader over the next year. My twenty-plus year career in court management can be attributed to having great mentors, skilled staff, supportive judges, joining NACM, and by joining my state association early in my career. It is an honor and a privilege to serve this organization and I do not take it lightly. I am looking forward to NACM’s future as we continue to build and expand this premier court management organization. We look forward to seeing you in February 2020 at our mid-year conference in Charlotte, North Carolina. Again, I thank you!
Sincerely,
Will Simmons, President
