The 2021 conference theme of Justice for All: Courts at the Crossroads stems from two major events with far-reaching implications for society and by extension our courts—the coronavirus pandemic and nationwide protests over racial injustice.

The pandemic has forced many court professionals to turn to new technology and other measures in innovative ways that are sure to evolve, improve and continue; but not without issues. These unprecedented times have taught us a valuable lesson in emergency preparedness.

Likewise, the protests have prompted concerned individuals to closely examine the extent to which we, as a nation, are fulfilling our pledge to provide “Justice for All,” the bedrock of our legal system, as well as the need to promote diversity and inclusion in our systems.

The Founding Fathers could not foresee the pandemic or other major events that have beset our nation over the centuries; but they wisely created a system of governmental checks and balances that have stood the test of time. They understood that courts are a vital component of our three branches of government, and knew that impartial, fair and accessible courts are critical for a free and well-functioning society. This is as true today as it was then.

In the present hour, two pressing questions are before us: How do we continue to move forward in a way that upholds the vision of our Founding Fathers while faced with a major health crisis affecting virtually every facet of daily life, and how do we address the grievances of a significant portion of Americans who feel they are not being treated fairly or equally?

Registration

Due to COVID-19 and San Diego County regulations, in-person conference attendance is limited at this time. Once registration is at capacity, registrants will be placed on a waitlist. Should restrictions be reduced/removed in San Diego County, those on the waitlist will be notified to complete registration. In order to accommodate as many people as possible and to include those who cannot travel, NACM will be offering a live stream component to this conference.

The cost of registration is $650/per person for members and $785 for nonmembers for the in-person conference, and $250/per person for members and $325 for nonmembers for the live stream. With limited registration available, NACM will expect payment in full upon registration. Payment will only be accepted by credit card; checks will not be accepted. If you can only pay by check, please contact conferences@https://nacmnet.org/wp-content/uploads/core-vision-icon.png.org. Refunds will not be permitted for the in-person conference. In lieu of refunds, such attendees will be automatically registered for the simultaneous live stream.

Health and Safety

NACM is taking your safety seriously. In line with California Department of Public Health guidelines and in order to social distance attendees we have reduced the capacity of the in person conference. If restrictions are modified in California, attendance may increase per the revised guidelines. Additionally, NACM is exploring the possibility of additional sanitization stations, designated outdoor areas for conference attendees for fresh air, and more. Again, the safety of our members and guests is our priority!

NACM Rules and Regulations

The NACM Annual is moving forward with an IN-PERSON Conference and Exhibit Show in San Diego.

With capacity restrictions in place, on-site attendance is limited. In order to allow constituents unable to be in San Diego to participate, NACM is also offering a live stream component. There will be no limit to the number of live stream registrations. With the in-person limitations, exhibitors may only register two on-site exhibit staff to be in the exhibit hall. Exhibitors cannot attend in-person education sessions. Please do not register until you receive detailed instructions.

A Conference App will be available to all conference participants (in-person and virtual) as well as exhibitors. This provides you with an opportunity to network with attendees before, during and after the event.
